Can I give through my donor-advised fund?
KQED gladly accepts donations via donor-advised funds.
How is a major gift different from an endowment gift?
Major gifts are used immediately whereas endowment gifts are invested as principal and only the interest is spent on current programs.
Director’s Circle
$5,000+

Support educators as they build the skills and confidence to successfully incorporate media literacy and media production into their teaching curriculums.
A gift of $5,000 provides workshops to 175 teachers through KQED Teach, offering free, hands-on media making and media literacy learning for educators in all roles, subjects and grades.
As thanks for your gift, get exclusive opportunities:
- A dedicated staff member to support your KQED experience
- Behind-the-scenes tour of KQED studios
- Invitations to events and receptions with KQED journalists, show hosts, and other public media figures
Producer’s Circle
$10,000+

Allow KQED to connect you to national and international news coverage as your Bay Area NPR and PBS member station with programs like Morning Edition, All Things Considered, Fresh Air, PBS NewsHour and more.
A gift of $10,000 covers 5 hours of NPR broadcast and programming to the Bay Area community on 88.5 FM.
As thanks for your gift, get all Director’s Circle benefits, plus:
- Two (2) on-air recognition spots during a radio program
- “Behind-the-Mic” experience including viewing of a live broadcast or taping
President’s Circle
$25,000+

Support youth in developing their voices, agency, and civic engagement through media literacy and digital storytelling skills.
A gift of $25,000 allows 26 Bay Area youth to participate in KQED’s Youth Media programs like the Youth Media Challenge, Youth Takeover, and the Youth Advisory Board, all of which empower student voices and choices through media-making for publication on our national platform.
As thanks for your gift, get all Producer’s Circle benefits, plus:
- Six (6) on-air recognition spots during a KQED-produced television or radio program per year
- Invitation for two to attend Inside the Mission: A Conversation About the Future of Public Media
- Private tour and lunch with an executive leader of KQED
Chairman’s Circle
$50,000+

Enable KQED to fulfill our mission to inform, inspire and involve through trusted journalism, storytelling and experiences rooted in the civic vitality and cultural innovation of the Bay Area.
A gift of $50,000 allows KQED to produce 6 hours of weekday radio programming like Forum and The California Report.
As thanks for your gift, get all President’s Circle benefits, plus:
- Eight (8) on-air recognition spots during a KQED-produced television or radio program per year
- Invitations to Reframe Festival with PBS NewsHour *limited availability
- An opportunity to host a private event at KQED
- Breakfast or lunch at KQED with President & CEO Michael Isip

Can I make my gift fully tax deductible?
You may choose to waive benefits to make your gift fully tax deductible. Please indicate that you wish to waive all benefits when initiating your gift.
Can I designate my gift to KQED for a particular use?
Yes, although unrestricted gifts allow KQED to sustainably and flexibly fund the areas of greatest need, you can restrict your gift to a particular area or program. Please contact the Major Gifts team at [email protected] or (415) 553-2300 for information about designating a gift for a specific purpose.
Does KQED accept corporate matching gifts?
A matching gift from your employer is a great way to double your philanthropic impact.
